As the EDM scene in D.C. grows to a point where DJs such as Pierce Fulton, Norman Doray, Afrojack, EDX, Alesso, Dillon Francis, Wolfgang Gartner, Steve Angello add a venue in the DMV on their tour. It’s not too often, we get to see a dubstep artists headlining at FUR but on July 28th Washington D.C. had the honor to host 12th Planet again.
Walking downstairs to the Main Room at Fur Des McMahon was laying some proper tunes for the crowd dancing before midnight, he kept the dancers on their toes with great transitions between a diverse playlist of dubstep tracks.
The crowd busted in cheers as 12th Planet took a look over the glass of the DJ booth. After a few more tracks Mr. McMahon handed over the decks to 12th Planet. He started off with some proper electro and big room house for those who weren’t familiar with him would of never thought that he would be playing some dubstep and trap music as the night progressed. The crowd was dancing to whatever 12th Planet was throwing at them. He played Sandro Silva & Quintino’s record “Epic”, you could see the excitment build in the crowd.
He later switched to what we know him best for… Dubstep. He played tracks of new record The End Is Near, most widely known is the track with Skrillex titled “Burst” which was a crowd favorite. 12th Planet never gave the crowd a chance to breathe, he would switch between tempos of his songs to keep things fresh through his 3 hour set. to another thing. To a overwhelming crowd response he played “Lana’s Theme” by Flosstradamus and a dubstep remix of the theme song of “Fresh of Bel Air”.
Overall, it was a great night. It was great to see that Glow is bringing some dubstep artists to the nation’s capitol. 12th Planet made sure that his fans weren’t disappointed.
