New music from the Norwegian duo, Lemaitre! Their remix of Uppermost’s “Angels” is officially being released on May 25, but you can listen right now on Soundcloud. It’s three-and-a-half minutes of distorted slap bass funk rhythm that you can’t stand still to!

Back in October, we were at 9:30 Club when they opened for Giraffage and Porter Robinson on the “Worlds” tour — and have been hooked (and practicing to pronounce Lemaitre correctly) ever since!
This band has been around for about five years now, making their music available for free, with the option to purchase. Their sound is set at the intersection of indie, pop, and electronic-house.
Together, band-mates Ulrik Denizou Lund and Ketil Jansen, have been balancing the craft of releasing catchy music and producing hilarious videos (“Wait” ft. LOLO is one of our favorites), with the business of making a profit. They were even featured by Forbes in 2013 as a band that exemplified keen business savvy, adapting to the changing marketplace and cultivating an explosive following online.
They’ve climbed even higher in the past two years since that interview, and have only increased their clout as producers, performers, and music industry influencers. They performed a whopping 40 shows just in the U.S. last year, and we are thrilled to hear they are back at U Street Music Hall Thursday, June 11
We look forward to seeing them in town again– headlining with live instruments, not-so-live instruments, and live vocals.
