It feels like yesterday we began 2013 with a Circus records MEGA at echostage on January 1st, and now it’s already October and Circus is back doing another one.
Arriving after Heroes x Villans and Brown & Gammon, Cookie Monsta’s set was an unimaginable mix of DnB and trap and the filthy sound he is known for.
Shortly after 12:30 am the stage went dark and quiet for a few minutes until Flux Pavilion came out and did the usual formal introduction to himself, “My name is Flux Pavilion and I’ve come here to play you some music” right into The Scientist, which he has been doing for some time now.
But tonight was different for one big reason, Flux had a cast on his left arm, or at least a temporary one with a sling. He mentioned it for a second, but honestly I couldn’t tell what he said about it.
But there was nothing holding back his performance, Flux still started off the set with everyone in attendance watching the new light show on stage. And during the third song into his set, the lasers filled the top half of the room. The five large screens behind the new “FP” DJ booth were visually stunning as well, the progression of on stage presence has been amazing to watch in the last few years alone.
Bare Noize came on right after Flux and kept a lot of the energy going since nobody was leaving anytime soon, this was only my second time seeing Bare Noize and he has always played some of favorite songs. Last night it was none other than “Brick” and “Headshot”.
I have always left any MEGA feeling like I got my moneys worth, and this one was no different. Great sets from everyone, and Flux still came to the show and played even though he probably could have cancelled because of his arm, but he didn’t, even more respect for him now after that.
