The sun never sets on the world’s most spectacular music festival
Tis the season… for festivals!
So, picture this: 130 artists performing against the beautiful backdrop of a volcano and a glacier– and the whole time, not one sunset.
In its third-year, and extended by popular-demand, the Secret Solstice Festival is back. Pack your bags for Reykjavík, Iceland.
This summer, you can spend 4 days at the most unique music festival in the world.
Because Iceland is so close to the Arctic Circle, the sun will not set the entire weekend. Themed after the Norse religion and mythology of the ancients, this festival offers 96-hours of uninterrupted sunshine and volcano-powered pool parties. Yes, really.
Part of the extravaganza is the Inside The Volcano performance, the world’s first public performance inside the dormant magma chamber of a volcano. Tickets have already sold out, as there were only 20 spots available (priced at a cool $1 million each), but don’t worry, there will be plenty of other opportunities for adventure: a show in a glacier, a boat party, and lots and lots of epic food.
Think of the spectacular memories you can make, and the jealousy-inducing photos to prove it. You will be jamming out to Radiohead, Deftones, Of Monsters and Men, and Die Antwoord under the Icelandic sun, channelling your inner Viking god (or goddess).
The Secret Solstice lineup is massive. The 4-day weekend is going to be packed with rockers, home-grown talent, alt-metal and bearded rappers (hi, Action Bronson).
And with this many performances, this festival is going to help you discover the newest killer artists that you can introduce to your friends when you get back home, and say “I saw them before they exploded onto the scene, and in the place that inspired The Lord of the Rings.” Mic. Drop.
And you don’t even have to wait for Hel to freeze over (she’s the Norse goddess of the underworld). The festival has teamed up with Festicket to help you plan the summer of your dreams (the ones you didn’t know you could have!).
And as we countdown, keep up with the festival and help us speculate as to who ponied up the cash for the Inside The Volcano tickets…
