Baltimore’s newest venue received a visit from Thomas Gold Friday night who is quickly becoming one of the top names in House/Electro. I didn’t get to SoundStage until right before midnight so I didn’t have a chance to see DJ WHO and MIKE T who opened for Thomas Gold.
Once again the crowd was small for a name like Thomas Gold and compared to other performances at Baltimore’s SoundStage. The only thing that makes up for a small crowd at an electro show is when everyone there is dancing and involved with the performance. Thomas Gold’s set was an endless playlist of hit after hit that he would seamlessly mix together. He didn’t talk to the audience at all but was still very involved with his body language getting the crowd ready for every drop in each track.
Gold played until almost 2 a.m. and seemed to enjoy himself, he spent a few minutes shaking hands of fans who stayed up front against the stage after the lights came on. But he was quickly rushed off the stage by his manager to get him to East Rutherford, New Jersey where he is playing Saturday at the Electric Daisy Carnival from 5-7 p.m. on the Cosmic Meadow stage!
